Great improvement for transparency on the Danish Gas Market
The Danish Energy Regulatory Authority has concluded the first phase of the introduction of a web transparency platform for the Danish gas market.

Today the first phase of the introduction of a web transparency platform for the Danish gas market was concluded. The platform will ensure that market relevant information on the Danish wholesale market can be disclosed in an effective and timely manner.

The Danish gas TSO Energinet.dk has established the platform in close cooperation with owners of production and grid facilities in the Danish North Sea - Maersk Oil & Gas, DONG Energy, Shell, the North Sea Fund – and the Danish gas exchange Nord Pool Gas. The platform is constructed under regulatory supervision by the Secretariat for the Danish Energy Regulatory Authority (DERA).

The web platform is already active and can be used. Energinet.dk and DERA expect the web platform to be finalised and all functions available from October 2012.

Jeppe Danø, Director of Wholesale and Transmission at DERA, says:
- We are very pleased with the constructive approach we have experienced from the market participants. The quality of the outcome of the project is very high, which is especially due to the knowledge and experience that the market participants have brought to the project. We are happy to see that Denmark can be one of the first countries to introduce a web transparency platform for the gas market and thereby bring more transparency to the market.

The platform is available on https://gasmarketmessage.dk
