Balancing gas is defined as the difference per day between the amount of natural gas delivered by the shipper into the system and taken out of the system.

Balancing gas is accumulated for each gas day during the month. At the end of each gas day, the shipper must ensure that the accumulated balancing gas lies within the daily tolerance.
