Prices and charges
Transmission tariffs in the Danish energy sector are regulated by the Act on Energinet.dk and are monitored by the Danish Energy Authority.

On the open gas market consumers pay partly for the natural gas and for security of supply and partly for having the gas transported through the Danish pipeline network.

The cost of transportation
The transportation charge is the same regardless of supplier.

For an overview of all prices and other fees and charges in the Energinet.dk transmission system, please see our price list.

The transport price is made up of two components:

  • A capacity component depending on the capacity booked in the transmission system
  • A comodity charge depending on the volume of gas transported.

The tariffs charged in the transmission system are based on an entry-exit principle. The entry and exit tariffs are at present identical. The exit zone tariffs and transit exit tariffs are also the same. In Denmark there is only one exit zone, and the transportation charge is therefore independent of where the gas is transported to in Denmark.

Should price changes out of the ordinary occur, Energinet.dk will endeavour to make sure that the change is announced with the longest possible notice. Energinet.dk moreover strives to ensure a high level of information and uphold an on-going dialogue with the market players.
