Trade
Shippers can trade in capacity and natural gas via a number of facilities made available or partially owned by Energinet.dk.

In recent years, an increasing share of the total consumption of gas in Denmark has been traded via Energinet.dk's Gas Transfer Facility (GTF), where the shippers can trade bilaterally.

The establishment of the gas exchange in Denmark - Nord Pool Gas (NPG) - has provided a proper market place for natural gas that can ensure open and transparent price setting in Denmark. Traders on NPG are anonymous as the gas exchange is the counterpart in all trades. Agreements on transfer of gas between two shippers are implemented via Nord Pool Transfer Facility (NPTF), which is a new virtual trading point in the Danish transmission system.

Link4Hubs is an internet-based platform established in cooperation with two other transmission companies - the Dutch and the German Gasunie Deutschland. Link4Hubs makes trading on exchanges and at virtual gas trading sites in North-Western Europe easier as the shippers can trade and transfer gas between Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.

The shippers can also engage in secondary trade in capacity and balance margins.
