Therefore we follow the precautionary approach recommended by the Danish health authorities when expanding and renovating the transmission grid. We support research activities and disseminate research findings within this area and measure magnetic fields in residential homes situated close to our transmission grid.
We follow the precautionary approach
Where health risk assessment is concerned, we follow the recommendations of the Danish health authorities and internationally recognised organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), etc., as regards magnetic fields and public health.
Communication and research support
Energinet.dk funds the Magnetic Field Committee, which was set up by the Danish electricity industry in 1989. The Committee is tasked with keeping abreast with and support research into magnetic fields and health risks and communicating the knowledge gained to power utilities, the public and other interested parties - nationally and internationally. Its members include representatives of the TSO, production, transmission and distribution as well as a representative of the Danish Safety Technology Authority.
The Magnetic Field Committee publishes a newsletter and other information material.
Through the Magnetic Field Committee Energinet.dk supports research into magnetic fields and their possible health risks.
Measurement of magnetic fields
Energinet.dk offers to measure magnetic fields in residential buildings close to existing or planned transmission grids.
If you want to measure the magnetic fields on your property, you can contact Energinet.dk. An Energinet.dk employee will then pay you a visit and measure magnetic fields on your property - outside and inside. We will then prepare a report and send it to you.
